Shock England World Cup Squad Call Ups
With the growing number of England players being injured could we see some shock inclusions to the World Cup?

Right now it looks like only Luke Shaw is available as a left back option after Chilwells hamstring went. Who are the other English left backs? Cresswell as emergency cover?

Does one injury to Harry Kane see Ivan Tony leading the line at the WC?

Could a spate of CB injuries over the next couple of weeks see a call up for Craig Dawson? Are there other English centre backs not in until squad performing at his level?

Any others?

Because we haven’t really got the players we play this system that can keep us in games in the hope we nick a winner…..this takes a lot of playing the same players so they know the drill….the downfall is introducing game changing players or attack minded players that play outside of a rigid system…..it’s why Foden struggles to have an impact and reminds me a lot of BOLTON….

We will stugglw toget past quarter final.

Southgate is the weak link.

We needed Potter

We have a lack of quality defenders so Southgate will pick 5 of them.

Re: Shock England World Cup Squad Call Ups
England would have won the Euros had Gareth Scapegoat not taken his best player (RICE) off after 75mins & if he had spent ANY time over the prededing couple of years trying to develop a plausible deputy for KANE who he could have brought on after an hour when the Tottenham player was blowing out of his arse.

Still hasnt addressed that and given the likes of WILSON, TONEY, CALVERT-LEWIN , ABRAHAM (or anyone else) meaningful minutes since then. So Kane will play 90 mins in every game unless he is sent off or breaks his leg.

You could probably name 6 or 8 plausible winners of the World Cup this year. England would be in that list but I'd think they and Belgium are two handicapped by their managers.

Rice is the first name on the team sheet, but Kane does have to start. Would have loved Toney to get a proper run out though, as he should be going but I think he will revert to type and take/start his favourites no matter how out of form they are.

I’m curious as to whether he will fold at the inevitable media campaign to include their darling ‘Trent’ in the squad. Real shame about Chilwell. I think he’s really good. Shaw and Trippier should be starting full backs. However I think he will persist with the dumb 3-4-3 that simply doesn’t suit the players we have, who cry out for 4 at the back. We will flop, he will leave the job after the tournament.

He’ll win you whatever you want if you give him a chance… best striker for us since Lineker… won the golden boot in 2018... scored 4 in Euro 2020/21... we might find out if his best days are in the past but for me he’s 1st name on that team sheet.. bagel or not

Russ - I don't think that's too far from the truth!

Kane is good at penalties, scores loads against the likes of Southampton and Saudi Arabia but against top class opposition he's found wanting, he's the best we've got but he won't win you a World Cup. Plus under Southgate's system of defending a one nil lead he starts dropping back into midfield, I didn't see the righteous knob Gary Lineker doing that.

violator... when it comes to MY country I want our best centre forward out there doing what he does best... whacking in 51 goals in 74 games (all WITHOUT Son)... when it comes to MY country I don't give a flying fuck what club team they play for... sorry if this upsets you... don't want you cutting your wrists and you writing in your claret and blue blood on the window `Kane is a no good bagel`... theres a good Depeche Mode fan

Re: Shock England World Cup Squad Call Ups
He should take James Ward Prowse for his set piece ability alone.

Surely the beardy waistcoated bloke can afford to allocate just ONE slot in a 26 man squad. He fucked up by not taking him last time.

Sir Alf... what the kane WITHOUT Son that has scored 51 goals in 74 apps for our country.... that Kane WITHOUT Son?? I mean as Son is Korean and does not play for England... just in case you are thinking of another Kane WITHOUT Son... that one... the one that has scored 51 times... yeah that one...

.... stop talking shit

Re: Shock England World Cup Squad Call Ups
Russ’s schoolboy humour made me chuckle. He’s right sadly in terms of who will go. Sterling out of form / finished? Henderson too old, Rashford might actually be worth taking if he’s really in form and it lasts more than a handful of games. But Maguire, Dyer etc and central defence will be the biggest weakness so better hope Phillips is fit so we can get out the group because him and Rice provide a shield.

Shame it stifles our attacking but I reckon Moyes will be unzipped watching the master tactician Waistcoat’s selections and tactics?

Btw, Kane without Son will be what he is, too slow and ineffective. He can take a good percentage of chances when he has Son and co working space for him on the counter ( thru their running ) but with England it will be like West Ham with teams knowing they need to sit deep to negate what we do as we can’t unpick teams due to lack of a real playmaker / creative midfielder. Kane will drop into midfield mostly.

All so predictable
